On an evening out in San Diego, USA, seasoned entrepreneur Anil Lala and his wife Sangeeta chanced upon designer fans at a Mexican restaurant that seemed incredible. He thought of the idea promptly to introduce these in India. With about a year in R & D and several value additions to ensure these fans cater to the unique needs of a diverse Indian market, Fanzart was born in the year 2012.
As the founder of Fanzart, innovation has been the constant for Anil Lala. The brand today has over 120 models of fans that can suit any type of décor. Each model can be a topic of conversation and is unique by itself.
In an exclusive interview with Ceo Buzz, Anil Lala elaborates on the USPs of Fanzart, what his success mantra, and the plans for Fanzart.
Ceo Buzz: Tell us about Fanzart.
Anil Lala: Fanzart was born to evolve the ceiling fans aesthetically as well as functionally. Aesthetically, it accentuates your home interiors by adding elements of elegance and grandeur, and functionally by giving you a luxurious breeze experience – all while being eco-friendly and completely whisper quiet. Our vision is to change the way fans are made and used. And to make Fanzart the Mercedes of Fans in all of India and beyond!
Ceo Buzz: What is the USP of Fanzart and how is Fanzart doing different from other players in the domain?
Anil Lala:

Ceo Buzz: What are the current trending fans from Fanzart?
Anil Lala: Most of our models are pretty popular. India being such a diverse country, different designs seem to be popular in various states. Tier 2s have bungalows, while tier 1s have apartments and villas. We have different fans for dining tables, walk-in wardrobes etc. And so many fans are popular for various designs and applications.

Our 2-year-old fandelier Windflower has been pretty popular. The multiple wood crafted models like Cherry – are popular. Some of our tropical fans are popular as well.
Ceo Buzz: What are the lessons learned from the pandemic crisis?
Anil Lala:
– The uncertainty of a pandemic never lasts forever.
– The affluent will always have money to spend.
– As long as you keep your cash burn low, you can survive uncertain times like lockdowns and the market will inevitably bounce back.
– People post-pandemic are now more open to collaborating.
Ceo Buzz: What are your future plans to expand and grow Fanzart?
Anil Lala: Higher penetration in the Indian market. Enter into markets outside. Add more product use cases and address a higher total addressable market. Turn Fanzart the Mercedes of fans into a household, aspirational, designer fan brand that is synonymous with luxury, quality and is also well within reach!
